The Legend Of Molly Malone
or
The Pluck o’ The Irish

by

M. K. O'Roark

Cast: 4 Men 3 Women
Set: Exterior Street Scene

In Dublin’s fair city, as the song goes, there is none so pretty as the lovely, Molly Malone. With her parents, she dutifully toils in the family fish mongering business under the lecherous eye of Seamus McRancid, who has vowed to wed the lovely Molly by fair means or fowl. Molly’s heart, however, belongs to a brave and stalwart Dublin Firefighter named Johnny O’Rightly. Not to be easily outdone, McRancid sets about preying on Molly’s weak minded and whiskey impaired father in order to place Molly in a position where she will be forced to succumb to his evil desires. Sure, she’ll need the luck o’ the Leprechauns, if she is to escape the evil trap that has been laid for her.
